Heart's Lullaby (2020)
Program Notes:
This work is essentially a lullaby or a song without words, intended to be performed singingly and expressively throughout; an expression of heart.
Notes:
This piece is written for wind ensemble Octet, primarily using instruments found in concert bands or combining a woodwind quintet and brass quintet. In order to make the work more flexible, alternate parts are provided as indicated above. In general, alternate parts are determined to provide maximum flexibility as well as cover instruments that are less present (such as bassoon or oboe).
Instruments can also be doubled as needed - while the work is excellent for 1 on each part as a standard Octet, it can also be used in somewhat larger chamber ensembles with 2 or 3 on a part (ideal for bands that may not have all instruments available).
